I was so worried that I wouldn't have a phone in case of emergency or the TV to keep me company or the net to keep me entertained. But I thought on that and that is such a shame we all live like that. We worry about what if or what is.
But what if... the world ended in the early hours of like 2 am and there were no TV no radio, phones, transportation,or even electricity?
Well I have figured that one out a little. I would just go outside and put those solar lamps to use in place of my chemical lanterns. They last all night and the next day I can just sit them back outside and let the sun shine do it's work again. ^.~ They should make more things like that. I have a gas stove(now thanks to a relative after going almost 3+ years with a two burner stove thingy. lol yes it was hell but very humbling) water would be hard to get being in the city(wish I had a well like when i was in the country. That was nice. But maintaining it was heck sometimes but well worth it.)
What I am getting at is DO NOT BELIEVE EVERYTHING ON THE INTERNET AND ALSO DON'T THINK YOU CAN'T MANAGE WITHOUT ALL THOSE DAMN LUXURIES. YES THEY MAY BE NICE BUT REMEMBER YOU CAN LIVE WITHOUT.
I have dealt with it most of my 45 years of life. Growing up we didnt have a lot but what we had we were thankful. We as children we raised by our mom ONLY. She did what she could and she didnt have foodstamps until we got older. She would work 2 and 3 jobs sometimes . There were times when we went without anything to eat. But she managed. She would make what she could. Even if that meant only biscuits for dinner. We were healthy. We had love more than most. We had times yes that were hard and I mean HARD.
She would tend to the car herself. yep she was her own mechanic . She knew things about the motor in her car than most men do today . lol She would take on jobs that only men would do and even those men wouldn't so she would step in and do them because ...she didn't have a choice she felt.
Why am I ranting on about my mother? lol anyways in my mind what I am getting at with that is ,if she could do it (a 4 foot even woman that weighed maybe 105 lbs and took care of 3 kids ALONE in those days when it was looked down on that a woman had no husband to help take care of her children with her, could do it? Anyone can. I show my kids everyday how to take care of themselves on such low budgets. I have healthy children today.
Again sorry for rambling on and on. lol it is a flaw of mine. But I hope you get my main reasoning. Live your life as though you had NOTHING. Trust me,you can do it. What did all that have to do with 9/11? Well think about it. What "if" something did happen today that caused your life to almost stop.
No job to go back to because of some disaster,so no money coming in. What "if" all transportation just stopped working(like in world of wars with Tom Cruise in it) I know that is really out there. But worth a shot. But just think about it all. Yes these type things run threw my mind from time to time. (now you get to see whats in there hahaha) I have a garden in which I use no pest repellents. I freeze what I get from it.
(I would can it but I can't afford all the things for canning.) I have dealt with power being off due to something not my fault. Trees on lines from wind blowing too hard..ect. I find things to keep me busy. no tv or what ever. yes right now I am on the computer which is entertainment.
But most of the day I am outside working in my garden. I am a smoker(unfortunately) and instead of buying a pack everyday for over 5 bucks I buy the bag of tobacco and tubs and use something that pushes the tobacco into the tubs and yes with filters. I am not saying to smoke. lol
I am just saying I save money by buying that instead. One day i will stop but right now I am not ready. I garden so I make my own plants by cutting pieces and making more of that plant or I save the seeds from those and use again next year. There are so many things I could teach people. haha
I guess that is all I wanted to say. Have a wonderful rest of the day. May YOU be blessed with energy and love and a happy life.
