The very first moment I can't remember would be when I was born. My mother told me all that happened. She had the Hong Kong Flue. I really don't know about that flue but she said it was bad very very bad. She felt pains coming on and knew it was time. She was all alone . My brother and sister were outside playing. So she decided to walk down to the lady down the street. She knew the lady very well and said she was a mid-wife. As she was walking down the street she saw the lady hanging clothes out to dry. A pain came on and she went to her knees. The gravel road tore into her knees and she grabbed her belly. The lady told her to get back home and into bed that she would be there.
Then she said that she was on the bed and the lady was standing over her. My aunt was there as well. I guess word gets out when it needs to. ^.^ Well the lady told my Aunt to step back that she had to break the sack and that the water is known to go pretty far. Then as the Lady poked the bag the water made a fine line straight into her lap. My mom said the Lady began to laugh and my Aunt as well.
Well then of course I was born not long after that. They took me out of the house away from my mom cause of her fevers and then of course I was able to see her later after she got better. That is the very first time I saw my mothers face and the very first time she saw me. (check in tomorrow for more on my mother's memories.) I promise you that you wont be sorry. There are so many stories of my youth that would probably blow your mind. I have a book I have written that I would one day be happy to let the world read. But I just have to get the nerves up to put it out there.
But the only things is that the book is about My life not just about my mother. But these next couple of days will be focused on my mom. I do hope that you all will enjoy them.
Tips of the Day
gardening tips: I keep so many books around that tell me what is what in plants. My mother taught me that. I bought some seeds today and a few plants. I had the day off and well planted. Now when your looking to buy plants be sure to look the whole plant over. Make sure that the lower leaves aren't yellow or have any diseases. For a better buy make sure that you get your moneys worth by looking to see how many plants you have in the packs if buying by the packs. I take a look through the plants that are on the shelves. I look for more than one seedling. Today I bought bell peppers and tomatoes. I was able to find a pack that had at least two extra baby seedlings in it. I have what they refer to as a green thumb. I can keep plants alive and bring ones that are dead down to the top of the roots back. ^.^
After planting make sure that you are happy with where you've planted it. Do not press them down into the soil or even water them until your sure. When sure then press them down ..not to hard now you will kill the roots. Then water them.If it looks like rain then don not water them. The rain is better for them and you might over water them and give them root rot. (if you would like to know more on gardening then leave me a comment on this blog.
Looking for a job:I was asked if I could ad more on job hunting by a viewer. I have a son that is 17 going on 18 soon . My son has quit school and we WERE going to take him down to a certain school and get his G.E.D. started so he could have that . But we missed that date they were starting it. I had to work and well.... well anyways he has been bugging me about getting a job. He was working with my brother and thought he would get paid. He got 20.00 for a day of work with him and since hasn't been paid. He said he wishes he could get a job so he can buy things . I feel bad for him but well he has to do it not me.
I told him that I can't do everything for him. If I was to go help him, which I will but I can't go into these jobs and fill out the info and all and then talk to them for him. He needs to get his nerves up and going and get out there and do this himself. He thinks no one will hire him . He wont know for sure until he does it. I told him that there was an application on the counter . Fill it out and I will turn it in for you by dropping it off .
It won't do him any good unless he does that though. The best impressions are the very first ones. In other words turn in the Applications to the main person. Managers look at you better when your there in person giving them the apps.It shows that you want the job really bad. Plus you should call them at least two days after you've turned it in. Ask them when should you get a call from them. Then call as much as you can but not too much to be a aggravation. Also go back up to the place where they are (the job you applied for) and make sure to check up on things by talking person to person with the manager.
Don't just stick with one job cause that may not be available and well you will miss out on more jobs to find. Remember the more chance you have the better your chances of landing a job. Dress nice, smile, make sure not to wear to much perfumes or colons. Don't be up front with too much. Like if you smoke don't just tell them let them ask and if they don't hey thats not your fault and ohh well. lol Always remember after 60 days put another application in at that job. The applications last for about 60 days and then they through them away. Don't ask me why just because I use to be a manager . lolI was told to through them away after 60 days but was never told why. If you get a interview. Take a shower and do your hair nice like your going out on a date. They like to see you care what you look like. Now don't go wearing something skimpy or wild as though you were going out on a date but you understand ,just wear something really nice. Don't get nervous and be sure not to talk too much.chew gum before going into the interview but spit it out before going in. Now if you do drugs then well DON"T. lol You WILL be drug tested trust me. Don't tell them that you do or have done drugs..ever. Some jobs don't drug test but are getting to where they are because of the accidents that happen because of others that did drugs on the job.
Be ON TIME to the interview. If you get lost be sure to let them know. That way you cover the fact that you were late and you aren't like that to be late.It will feel like your in the principals office but remember your not. So don't be scared we don't bite. (I mean they don't bit. lol) If all goes well then they will either call you back the next day or they might call you later that day. You never know. Just get out there and look and you will find work trust me. Just DON"T STOP ON ONE put yourself out there.
Those are my tips of the day. I hope I made your day a little more easy and relaxed.Hugs to you all and I will talk to you tomorrow I hope. lol I work tomorrow night so stay tuned.
Thank you for your advice on how to prepare soil for planting . Every bit counts. I use my hands in the dirt and when I can run my hands through the dirt with no problems then my soil is ready to use and if there are to many clumps of clay I know that it's ready to use. I also through some miracle grow in the soil to help with any lack of nutritions in the soil. Again thank you for your help in letting others know what to do when preparing soil for planting.
